Misleading Consumers

Misleading Food Advertisement Presentation Instructions: This assignment is a fact finding research on false and misleading food labeling and advertising. Many major companies, including food manufacturers and restaurants continue to confuse or defraud consumers about the health effects, ingredients, or “natural”-ness of their products.

Create a PowerPoint presentation with a minimum of 15 slides, not including title and reference slides. Your presentation will be judged on how well you succeed in producing a well thought out, clear research that shows you can interpret and intelligently discuss the issue and how well you can backup your findings with evidence.

Your research presentation must include all of the following categories (must have faculty approval);   1. Restaurant, preferably one that your currently patronize 2. Grocery Store 3. Television, magazine, or billboard advertisement

How do these deceptions influence nutrional needs, energy, and weight management.  Do these companies contribute to the problem of obesity? Why?

Be sure to include some sort of visual aid (pictures, videos) in your presentation. Format your assignment consistent with APA guidelines. At least four references required.. Please note: Wikipedia or eHow are not acceptable references. Assignment presented in class.
